Tennessee
See here for the pesticide liability shield bill text, HB 809/SB 527, introduced in the Tennessee legislature in 2025.
Status: HB 809 passed out of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee on March 12, 2025—with further action deferred until 2026. The bill is up for a vote in the House Judiciary Committee as the start of the 2026 session begins on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. There was a hearing scheduled on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, however HB 809 was pulled from notice on the committee calendar. A new hearing date can come at a moment's notice!
Kansas
Please see here for the pesticide liability shield bill text, HB 2476, introduced in the Kansas legislature.
Status: The Kansas House voted in favor [81-36-8] of HB 2476, as amended, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, after the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee voted HB 2476 out of committee on Tuesday, January 27 along party lines. The Senate Agriculture Committee held a hearing on Tuesday, March 10, at 8:30 am CT, according to the latest agenda, however it was not voted on.
HB 2476 did not move out of committee, effectively defeating the bill. However, SB 390—a newly introduced bill on restricting food additives in school meals—was amended to include the pesticide liability shield on March 17, 2026. Both attempts failed to move out of committee before Friday, March 20.
Kentucky
Please see here for the pesticide liability shield bill text, SB 199, introduced in the Kentucky legislature in 2026.
Status: The Kentucky Senate introduced SB 199 on February 13. Unfortunately, the bill passed the Kentucky Senate [23-13] on Thursday, March 5, after the bill was voted out of the Senate Agriculture Committee [9-3] on Tuesday, March 3, at 10 am ET, according to the latest meeting agenda.
The House Agriculture Committee voted SB 199 out of committee on Wednesday, March 11 [13-5].
Unfortunately, the bill passed the Kentucky House [53-37] and concurred in the Kentucky Senate [24-11]. The legislation was vetoed by Governor Beshear (see here), however the legislature overrode the veto, leading to its eventual passage.
Missouri
Please see here and here for the pesticide liability shield bill text, SB 1005 and HB 2712 introduced in the Missouri legislature.
Status: SB 1005 was prefiled on December 1, 2025, before the legislative session even began. The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources voted SB 1005 out of committee [4-1] on Wednesday, March 11, at 11:00 am ET, according to the latest agenda notice. HB 2712 was prefiled on January 6, 2026 and has not yet been assigned to a committee.
Florida

Status: The bills were pre-filed in 2025 on November 18 and November 17, 2025, and are likely to begin moving forward once the 2026 legislative session begins on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
HB 443 was prefiled on November 18, 2025, and referred to Civil Justice & Claims Subcommittee, Housing, Agriculture & Tourism Subcommittee, and Judiciary Committee - it is currently in the Civil Justice & Claims Subcommittee.
The identical bill on the Senate side, SB 518, was prefiled on November 17, 2025, and referred to the Judiciary, Agriculture, and Rules Committees on December 1, 2025. The bills are defeated after failing to move out of committee!
Oklahoma
See the pesticide immunity bill text, HB 1755/SB 1078, in the Oklahoma legislature in the 2025 legislative session.
Status: HB 1755 was referred to the House Rules Committee on March 4, 2025, after a public hearing in the House Energy and Natural Resources Committee was withdrawn from the record on the same day. The bill sits in the House Rules Committee with a hearing likely to move forward in early February 2026.
The Oklahoma Senate could hear SB 1078 this week! The bill passed out of the Senate Agriculture and Wildlife Committee and is now up for a floor vote at a moment's notice.
Iowa
See here for pesticide liability shield bill text, SF 394, introduced in the Iowa Legislature in the 2025 legislative session.
Status: SF 394 is up for consideration in the House Judiciary Committee after passing out of the Senate [26-21] on March 26, 2025.
North Carolina
See here for pesticide liability shield bill language, Section 19 of S. 639, introduced in the North Carolina Legislature in the 2025 legislative session.
Status: The legislative session will likely move fast once it convenes on April 21! While Section 19 of S.639 was not included in S.401, a conference committee was formed to address discrepancies for the final version of the North Carolina Farm Act. Once the conference committee makes its decision, the full House and Senate will have to vote on whether to pass legislation that includes Section 19.
Wyoming

Status: The Wyoming Senate failed to introduce SF 74 to the floor on February 10, 2026, with the deadline to move bills forward on February 13, 2026. The bill was defeated!
